Gonna try something a little different. I have a little bit of free time, so I'm going to write several (short) entries and queue them up. So please forgive a little sameness and brevity in the interest of actual content.

For today...

Ambush Bug. He and Deadpool were the comedic fourth-wall-breaking characters for DC and Marvel. Ambush Bug's star eventually burned low, what with the re-boots and all, but Deadpool's still going strong. I thought Ambush Bug was great in small doses, but I couldn't take a lot, just like I couldn't take a lot of Lobo or Deadpool.

But they were talking about the Ambush Bug DC Heroes module on the Fire and Water Podcast. And I thought, it might be nice to have a character who is a fourth-wall-breaking slapstick weirdness entity. And, because Fainting Goat produced a Deadpool homage, I figure this will be a kind of Ambush Bug homage.

Sometime I'll do a draft of a set of comedy rules. Not today.

Rubber Fly

In an attempt to create a sentient multipurpose robot, someone (in the Stark City setting, Valkyrie Industries? Kid Impossible?) created an AI with a kind of nanotech assembly or goo that mimics stretching and transforming powers. To bring it up to speed, they fed it popular entertainment...including comic books. So the machine is pretty sure that it's in a comic book. Or a movie.
