There's this superhero world:

"I'd rather not be rescued by you."

"But ... it's a rescue."

"You have fewer than five adventures. Statistically, you're going to muff this one, and I don't want to be your victim."

"So you'd...rather stay a prisoner of the blood-drinking shape-changing supervillain?"

"My odds are better."
